Joëlle Barron, is the French author of fifteen illustrated small books for children, of a number of surrealist novels and other tales.
Before commencing her written creations, she was a model maker in children's fashion. She then produced thousands of designs for various European publishers of greeting cards, often under pseudonyms or unsigned.
The English versions of "Mondes Sidérants ..." and "Macrocosme ..." (see Illustrated books page), translated by Claire Culliford and Sarah Wheldon, are presented below. Along with these are details of Claire's charming series of children's books, illustrated with by the very talented Emma Allen.
This series for young readers is aimed at children from 3 to 7 years old, whilst children aged from 7 to 107 can delight in the wonders of: "Fantaisies in Space-time ..." and "Macrocosm '..."

Claire Culliford is an author, screenwriter, poet and lyricist who loves to write about the that concern us all, from love and compassion to the natural world, equality and justice. For more than twenty years, she has also been a teacher and translator.
Claire is best known for her environmental and social children's book series "The Little Helpers", written to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She educates young children about global environmental and social issues and inspires them to find creative ways to solve them. The books in the series have been translated into many languages.
